CPF Plc will double cage-free egg production to 10 million pieces by the end of 2020, according to Somkid Wannalukkhee, senior vice-president.
He said the company enforces strict compliance with antibiotics standards and the hens are raised in line with the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare – freedom from hunger and thirst; discomfort; pain and injury; and freedom to express normal behavior.
The premium cage-free eggs are available at leading restaurants, supermarkets and hotel chains. CP Foods is currently exporting premium egg products to Singapore and Hong Kong.
