China’s Ministry of Agriculture has reported a new avian influenza H5N6 outbreak in Hubei province.

It was discovered on a backyard farm in Dianjun District, Yichang, Hubei, on Oct 25. Nearly 5,000 birds were culled to contain the disease.

The authorities have imposed a range of control measures to contain the outbreak.
